RIP Michael Jackson

As you may, or may not have heard the Telecommunications industry has been rocked in the last few day’s, we went into a meeting on Tuesday fully expecting to hear that Transfield had won the Wellington patch and that work would go on as usual.

Telecom (Chorus) obviously felt that going with Downer EDi was a better choice with better offers for there business plan – thats just the way it goes and there is nothing I can do to change it.

Am I worried? yes I’m worried, I’m not even a year into my apprenticeship with Transfield and my choices are, move to where they have a patch, or try to get a job with the company taking over our patch, and in between continue to work hard, learn plenty and do my best to become a model professional who adds something to our ever decreasing team.

So in short it is a worrying time for plenty of us (especially those who haven’t been through the areva’s, gdc’s and alstoms of the past decade) but there is always opportunity.

Computers Want Me Dead – We Walk In Circles 3:54

Work is good, I am no longer sick yadda yadda ya.
Sadie is getting really good at grabbing stuff, Sarah chucks her in bed beside me when I’m attempting to sleep in and she latches onto my beard and try’s to pull my face off.

She also let out the first words I’ve heard, a distinct “Dad-dee” Sarah and I both looked at one another like “no fucking shit, this thing can talk too!”

Well im going to try get some kip… oh oh and congrats to Jacko on the birth of his son the other day… holy jesus theyre breeding.

Beastie Boys – Gratitude 3:03

I got 3 papers complete on thursday, towards my apprenticeship, so I’m feeling shit hot right now, especially after a week off work sick.

Sadie is really weezy, we have her on medicine – which she loves as it is really sweet, otherwise she’s her usual happy little self, she is in love with her T.V and the little golden book “The Scrawny Tawny Lion” which is an evil ode to vegetarianism if ever I’ve read one.

We’ve been told NZHomeloans are willing to pay 98%, which means we only need a 2% down payment, on the houses we’ve been looking at that works out to around 8 to 12k – bloody ripper! we’ve also heard that “welcomehomeloans” will pay 100% but they’re not as reputable as nz home loans – something to look into anyway.

Anyways I’ve spent the day in Foxton working outside in the rain – so im going to have a nice deep bath – peace.

Armand Van Helden – NYC Beat 3:14

So back from the doctor’s, with a big blue Ventolin inhailer, and a smaller orange Flixotide inhailer… I have adult onset asthma… which means I really have to continue not smoking, especially when I got back to Timaru and I’m stressed out with nothing to do.

ventolin-albuterol-salbutamol

mmmmm suck on this

Sadie has got a cold, I hope it hasnt been from me the last few week’s, Sarah and my mother are taking her into the Medical Centre tomorrow.

Been looking into home loans from various sources, Kiwibank is so far the best, but we are having a meeting with a lady from NZHomeloans on Thursday, we’ve actually started going to some of the houses we have in our “yes pile” which turned into a new set of stressful discussions between the Mrs and myself (arguing over money hoorah) we came to a head and decided that unless we both love the house we wont put the money towards it – which is a start.

Paul Gilbert – The Curse of Castle Dragon 3:52

As usual (as of late) sorry for the lack of update’s, I have been extra slack this week.
I’ve come down with some gnarly sickness, it started off as a cough at work, and has worked into a slimy throaty deadly man flu capable of killing mere mortals.

I’ve been finding it hard to breathe, concentrate, coughing hurts me up my right side, and causes me to choke or vomit up bile (lovely) of course I don’t get must rest staying at home, because Sarah needs as much help as she can get anyway – so i’ve been finding it hard to recuperate.

I’ve spent a little time getting back into some anime, I’ve decided Gundam Wing and Endless Waltz are both probably worth owning on DVD, and as faggy as the anime was Naruto might be worth a second look (I used to love reading the manga online at narutofan years ago) Nine tails demon fox like a ma-fudger.

Sadie is doing really well, still not crawling, though she seems to have the general idea.
She takes after her mother, as in, she’s bossy as hell.
She still looks and smells like me though… feel sorry for her all you like – but I’m pretty chuffed.

The Chiefs lost in South Africa, the entire way through the game I was mumbling “the hurricanes would’ve done better” YES I may have sour grape’s mainly because every time I comes to finals time Wellington seems to bloody loose it in Hamilton… Just more reason for me to detest the place – seriously though Benny’s boys played some fucking gem rugby this year, but nobody could have expected them to win in the great land of Apartheid and lack of racial morel, even the TAB was paying out against the Chiefs which goes to show just how much support they really had from the rest of the country, even if they had Bill and Ben, a couple of netballers and “Great Leader”, I mean *cough* John Key jearing them on in the pre-match wank.

Anyways, I’m off to die for another night, fingers crossed I don’t have bronchitis or broccoli-itus or whatever it is people think I may have – because I can’t afford it.
