Empire Of The Sun – Walking on a Dream 3:20

If you want a good blog to follow I suggest you read the trials and tribulations of one “White Knight” over at Rusty Gooch Racing, with a blurb like this (below) how could you not get sucked in?

About

RG Racing is an ongoing account of the trials and tribulations of Jase as he attempts to prepare himself and his Suzuki RG150 for racing in the Street Stock class of the VMCC Winter Series (and then hopefully the PMCC Summer Series). There are two key issues for Jase and his bike to overcome before this can happen:

1. Jase’s bike is not quite a runner.

Well, it is, but it is not quite up to spec and requires some work before it will be track ready. The deadline has been set at April 19th – there is a track day on at a (not quite) local track, a month ahead of the first race (which is at an even less local track). This track day will be the final shakedown, providing everything goes to plan.

2. Jase is a fat man with a skinny bike.

This is all well and good, except that the laws of physics have intervened to make this a not-quite-so-ideal situation. Therefore, part of the process of preparation involves Jase taking up some (*gasp*) exercise, in order to increase his power-to-weight ratio.

Jase took up motorcycling at age 18 after wanting to get his licence for a few years (laziness was the only reason it didn’t happen earlier). He immediately fell in love with motorcycling. After attending a track day at Manfield racing circuit (Fielding, New Zealand) back in 2007 on his bike at the time (the might Suzuki TL1000R), he decided that he needed to acquire a race bike and enter competitive racing. Later that year, he purchased a 1998 Suzuki RG150ES – a lightweight, 150cc single-cylinder two-stroke, fully faired commuter bike made by Suzuki Thailand. This bike wasn’t 100% (and its price reflected this), so Jase proceeded to start bringing it up to spec. After a major initial hiccup – getting a piston that was a size too small – it is finally starting to come together (the piston problem along with life in general delayed the project for roughly 18 months), and it looks like the 2009 VMCC Winter Series will see its debut. It will be raced in the Street Stock class – a class for high-power 250cc 4-stroke & 150cc 2-stroke bikes to race in stock standrad road trim (read: cheap entry level racing).

Jase is a top bloke in real life, and interesting happenings seem to befall him on a regular basis…

Work is workalicious, I’ve been rocking around with the oldschool crew, trying to pick up how to find faults using a dynetel, its all above my head still, but I hope the more I watch/ try to do it the more it will come clear to me, Going to Parame to have a meeting with my apprenticship co-ordinator this arvo, and to hand in some Unit Standerds for my level 2/ 3 so I can get down to the next course this August.

Peace

The Romantics – Talking in your sleep 3:56

Bingle finally made contact! Was good to catch up with him on Friday night, after a fairly dumb day at work – I only say that because I learnt nothing pulling jumpers all day since nobody wanted an apprentice in their van and eventually just worked on my course work – unit standards to pass the day away.

Saturday came around and Ray Chan and Cameron popped around to visit for a few hour’s after going to Sean’s funeral, was good to see those cats and hear how they were going, quite buzzy to see how guys you knew at 13 years old have changed over the year’s/ after reaching goals or deciding that goals they had in there youth weren’t so worthwhile.

Today (Sunday) I’m taking Sarah to Otaki to visit some bra factory shop, then we are possibly taking Sadie to Welly for a visit around some of the old crew.
My actual plan’s for today are as follows

  • do nothing
  • do nothing
  • eat
  • do nothing
  • do nothing
  • eat
  • read a book/magazine/watch tv
  • sleep
  • We will see how well I get to stick to my projected plan’s, but I’m not liking my chances so far.

The Brunettes – Her Hairagami Set 4:46

My favourite album of the moment is “The Brunettes – Structure & Cosmetics”
It’s like The Shin’s… meet some kind of cabaret… meet the postal service… I don’t know what its like, its good though, nice relaxing tunes to drive around too.

Just a quick “give credit where credit is due” these guys rule.

Got the day off work, much to the bemusement of the older qualified guys at work, who apparently never took days off because they were dedicated!
The Volkswagen has gone into Ken Mason’s to get a part replaced, fingers crossed no more silly patch work electrics.
But more importantly we are heading to Palmerston North to see a specialist about whatever the cist type thing is that showed up in ultrasound when Sadie was still in Sarah’s tummy tum tum.

And apparently there’s the chance that we will be referred to Wellington Hospital where she will have a surgery.

Anyway’s will update you on what’s going on there… and probably time for some more baby photos… so I’ll throw a few of those in this arvo too.

    Voom – King Kong 3:10

Car got a quick service today, just an oil change/ replaced oil filter.
    She idles alot better now.

Pulled over for the first time in months while warming the oil up to clear the sump, cop done the regular walk around to check I had a Warro and Rego, then said he was doing routine breath tests… the same old bullshit, checked my license and after wasting 10 minutes of my life let me go on my way.

The golf then got it first clean since I left for the South Island, then taken for a quick drive through the shannon/ foxton loop, after which I stopped in at BP Levin to gas up.

Where the second cop (a middle aged Maori chap) decided to walk over and check my warro, rego and license, at least this guy was a bit of a laugh.
At this rate all the cops in Levin will probably know my car by next week and not pull me over in future… heres to hoping.

    Recloose – Mana’s Bounce 3:44

So its been a crazy week, i’ve been wondering weither or not I should mention the late Sean Headifen.
I’ve decided I will, I first meet Sean in 2000 at Waiopehu College, He was a nerdy little smart arse, who didnt make friends very easily.

As is the case as a junior college, my peers were brutily divided into groups, I was a nerd, because I somehow managed to get into the excelerant class, myself and the other nerds would hang out at the library qaud, 3rd and 4th form, without a doubt.

Sean would linger around the outskirts of the qaud, usually trying to rark up Cameron Cotter.
Eventually Sean became and acqatence, he was obveously an intellegent guy but kind of an egg, even to us socail out-cast’s, he basically had a bit of an attitude problem – that said when your 13 years old and don’t want to be a school who doesnt?

A few other memorys stick out, which show Seans weird character, the first one was 5th form geography, Sean had stolen another students watch, this watch had the students name engraved on it.
An arguement commenced, Sean pleaded his innocence, although we could all see the students name engraved on the watch, the teacher didnt really do the best job of mediating the situation, and the other student ended up knocking Sean out – my guess is that this was the property investor in Sean rearing its ugly head a real “I want it and i’ll take it” attitude

The other was more of an eye opener, as mentioned before Sean would try to rark up Cameron Cotter, well the formed a bit of a love hate friendship over the years.
Cameron was the orgoniser of our colleges 40 hour famine, a difficult even to run, as 80% of the students I knew would steal the money they’d “earnt” starving over night.

I don’t know how but Sean came through the end getting not only to highest amount of money for world vision in The College, but in Levin… Manuwatu/ Kapiti… and Wellington.

In short, I don’t know how to feel about all of this, on one hand I never personally considered Him a close friend, just a guy who happened to be there.
On the other hand, Id never wish for anyone to die in Bali because they couldnt afford the ambulence, not even my worst enemy.

R.I.P Sean, you died too young bro.

The writer of this website, you are a fucking retard, I can honestly say Sean worked harder then you ever have – went through more hardship then you ever will, you goverment handout leaching brown supremist fuck, your nothing but another born again maori so out of touch with your own culture you wouldnt know a tiaha if it skull fucked you over.

Im sick of people like you thinking your immune from being a racist prick just because your skin colour isnt white, seriously do everyone a favour and off yourself you tiny pricked little shit.

Phil Collins – True Colours 3:07

This week I’ve been learning about pressurisation, that’s right, alot of our larger cables have constant dry air pumped through them, at the same time I’ve been bouncing around the lower North Island with our cable locator, learning how to do this job, a few ticks toward traffic management to go on my apprentice WAP sheet’s.

Have been getting texts from a few of the guys from down Timaru, sorry to say I need to top up my phone before replying, but nice to know to boys are all staying in touch – because it was a particularly easy crew to get along with – CHA-HOOOOOO.

We had our Bi-monthly staff meeting/ breakfast, and I managed to sit down across from Wellington’s regional manager, and proceed to discuss my pay packet for the next 6 months on napkins, I like the approachability of my new bosses, this is the best job i’ve ever had.

Sarah and I have found a new house to move into, its quite far away from the parent’s and town, but otherwise has huge ticks in every other box… updates on it to come.
