Pink Floyd – Echoes 16:30

Have been planning on going to Mana Island in Fiji on the 16th of October, however the travel agent went and booked out the place we were staying out and now we looking at heading over on the 29th of October, un-fortunately we have been told this coincides with the Hurricanes.

So looking into elsewhere and thinking about risking the 29th if all falls through, one things for certain I need a holiday.

Oh also 24 years ago today my parents went through my birth, happy birthday to me happy… you get the picture

‎”Tamati you rum drinking pirate” < now thats what I call infamous

It’s not often I (or care to admit too anyway) sob like a girl during a movie…
She who must be obeyed recently made me watch Dean Spanley, a movie produced in the UK and New Zealand about reincarnation.

Set after the Boer War in Edwardian England, Fisk Senior has little time or affection for his son, but when the pair visit an eccentric Indian, they start a strange journey that eventually allows the old man to find his heart.

Sam Neil plays Dean Spanley, who in a past life was Fisk Seniors pet dog Wags, through the drinking of copious amounts of Tokaji wine the story of how a mans favourite dog lived unravels.

Must stuff, see if you can keep your bottom lip from wobbling towards the end tough guy.

You’re not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on

This isn’t about expenses as much as its about spending copious amounts of money on shit we don’t need.
Yesterday I took Cia to the private hospital ACC had taken upon itself to send us to so she could have a 5 minute examination on her ankle, explain to the Dr that she had forgotten to bring her crutches back.
By the time we had left it was around 1 in the afternoon.

So being bored little hicks in the bustling metropolis of Palmerston North we headed to the place where you worship consumerism… in this case a shit-hole little mall called the Plaza (funnily enough situated right next door to the IRD building where dreams are harvested and destroyed for the government… and thats just the employee’s I wont get into the actual un-extortionate creatures at the blunt end of that stick)

Sarah managed to drag me inside and we had spent $108 in the first two minutes on a comforter and European pillow’s, making a saving (I love how I “made a saving” by spending over a hundy) of several hundred, after I had walked back to the car with two big bags full of comfortables and back to my family, we went to some apparent in house fashionable kitchenware store, full of lady’s with those trendy “skunk on my head” hair styles dressed as though they were 30 years younger… this wasn’t the Plaza I remembered, where were all the drunkard student’s, or the boys high boys mincing about?
Palmerston North has obviously become a smaller try hard version of down town Wellington… 5 years ago.

After I had gotten over the fact that the store owners all had a thing for Cruella de Vil, the Hungover 18 to 24 year old sect have all grown up and moved to somewhere more desirable… I don’t know, the shit end of Brataslava, I started to have a really good time.

We ran into several shops with younger management, who gave us very good service, the young lady in some shoe store (I wasnt paying attention) made herself two sales (and made Cia a very happy girl) the man at whitcouls was helpful, and although he didnt have a copy of Iwi, which I’ve been trying to find (apparently the only copy in the country is at the massey store…I just got an idea, Cheese im calling you) I went and bought a book on NZ Design and a copy of Clarkson – Dont Stop Me Now.

We then went to a store that sells books, CD’s, DVD’s and coffee… can’t remember the name, but best service yet, we wanted Riverside Cottage books/ DVD’s and the young salesman told us all about how in depth the cook books were etc etc hooked me up with a free coffee and ordered me two DVDs, I ended up buying a couple of CD’s for the drive home.

So it just goe’s to show when your stuck in Palmerston North its not the end of the world… provided you have some money… otherwise just kill yourself.

(P.S very funny to hear on hauraki that Hamilton is apparently not “Chlamydia Central” any more, Student City takes some more honours… Mike I know your doing your part)

First up Sorry Duff and Sonja for missing ya farewell/ graduation party first of all we had no baby sitter, so headed to Welly to see family for a day then plans got changed and by then as some of you may have seen, Cia and I got to spend last weekend in Petone (Sadie had a sleep over with Nanna and Grumps who decided to babysit after all) was a really good night Travis is off to like India? wicked to catch up with Benny, Caroline, Momo fresh from Auckland, Meet Jason and Gaye? and everyone else.

Thanks Rob for walking my drunk arse to Mc Donalds and sorry I ate the last third of your Angus Mc Uber burger… when im drunk, im hungry…

Ive been reading “Every Bastard Says NO!” The 42 Below story, as told by the wife of the man behind our country’s favourite home grown Vodka, quite an interesting read, to Sum it up – White farm kid goes to Papakura high school, falls in love with girl, works for Saatchi & Saatchi, makes famous lotto ad’s living in Wellington, hates being told NO, sets out to proove people wrong, makes high quality vodka, takes piss out of competition, sells Vodka company to Barcardi, kicks feet up in Northland.

I’ve also been (interesting I have time to…) getting back into art, mainly tattoo designs/ full page sketches, but some acrylic/ mixed media painting also, you can see that here

Not much else to say, watching the Rugby in Levin at parents tonight (go the All Blacks) hanging out with Sadie and my lovely Cia.

Peace

Sarah went to hospital to have the metal plates/ pins and screws removed from her ankle yesterday, which has given me a golden opportunity to hang out with Sadie and help Sarah around the house a bit more.

Finally a day off tomorrow, I’ve justy ducked out of the lounge because the All Blacks are playing so poorly against Wale’s.

Some great single preformances though (mainly from our Welly boys may I add, Corey Jane… need I say more?) It’s a problem when the spectacle of the entire game was the hair raising haka at the start.

Looking at other sport’s, the All Whites (cue racist sounding football team jokes) take on Italy, You have to laugh at the delirium of the faithful, While I would love to see New Zealand win, or even draw with Italy, I just can’t see it happening… in any case best of luck to those guys – try knock the bastard off.
